By faith we understand that the worlds/universe were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible- Hebrews 11:3
Reading the above passage of bible scripture takes me back to creation in the book of Genesis when God created the heavens and the earth.
"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said , Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good...." - Genesis 1:1-3
The word "LET" literally means to actively cause something to happen. This word calls for some action in order for something to happen.
Throughout the whole chapter of creation God spoke everything into existence. Whenever He spoke things to be, the scripture says He then saw what He had spoken, and He said it was good
This blatantly means that words have the power to put things into existence, and things that we can also visibly see.
"..the worlds/universe were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible"
By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. Psalms 33:6
This introduction above thus shows you that words have the power to create, save and also to destroy.
God from the beginning gave man the power to use his mouth in creating his world. Adam in the book of Genesis was given the privilege to name every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name.
The greatest miracle ever considered is the salvation of man - the new birth or being born again, and this was a result of our faith and our confession or words of belief spoken.
"Thou shalt be saved/Born Again" - How?
"...The word is near you, even in your mouth, and in your heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart man believes to righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made to salvation." Romans 10:8-10
According to the passage of scripture above, the faith of the heart must be openly confessed. This is a test of the faith. Unless Christ had provided such tests as confession and obedience we could not know whether ours was really a belief of the heart. That our faith moves us to confession is to us an assurance of salvation. The whole Christian life is a confession.
For with the heart - Not the understanding only. Man believes to righteousness - So as to obtain justification. And with the mouth confession is made - So as to obtain final salvation. Confession here implies the whole of outward, as believing does the root of all inward.
For many say that they believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, But the question here is that, have they confessed him as the Lord over their lives, to live according to His precepts by the help of the Holy Spirit?
There's power in your words to either bring you life of death
Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof - Prov 18:21
The world you are living in is as a result of what you are saying and your mouth is a picture of your heart, and your words are portraits.
If you sit down to listen to someone narrate to you something he has experienced or seen, you'll begin to see pictures or photographs in your mind of whatever they're telling you.
Your words are you. And, they are incredibly important. So, when you speak, choose your words carefully because they truly reveal your loyalty or disloyalty, truth, anger, sensitivity an d much more.
More to come...
